After my Dj-ing (is that a verb now?) experience in Derry; we retired to Malin Head for a lovely break. Shortly after which I went to Belfast for some meetings with people about the new album and a possible STA head office relocation back to NI in the future. I’m thinking of ways that will allow us to make more records/money have staff - as ever your own ideas are very welcome on this.
My birthday (30th) was on March 22nd and we all went to the dog track in Lifford to lose money. Actually, I made 80 euro(s) - which was quite a haul considering I couldn’t read the wee book they give you after six of the best. Not having drunk properly in quite a while (still haven’t kicked this health kick habit yet - I must think that I’m getting old subconsciously) the hangover was monstrous the following day. Yikes.
Anyway LC sponsored a race for me ‘The Andrew Ferris A4 525 Birthday Stakes’ which means that you go and meet the winning dog and his owner afterwards - look, there we all are. Yep that’s me, with a massive ‘I am 30 badge’ LC made me wear it - it didn’t take much convincing.
Birthday, came back to London to go to work for a few days and then went back to Derry to speak at The Nerve Centre’s Music Hothouse Event. It was cool, my little talk was about all things DIY to a group of 14-16 year olds, only two of them fell asleep; which I think is pretty good going. Remind me to never ask Cahir to cue my PowerPoint slides in the future - he’s got an itchy index finger that lad.
